I spent the weekend doing intensive cleaning stuff about the house, which should tell you a bit about how boring it’s been, not writing.
And yet, I don’t really want to write just now. It’s not that I don’t have ideas, it’s just the thought of putting them down makes me want to run away screaming. So, no writing.
However, it occurred to me today, that I could dabble with some light editing again. I’ve got the next chunk of my Sons of Eld written, and though I need to go back and whip up a scene to add to an earlier chapter, the rest of it is mostly just cleaning up the rough draft I’ve already got. It’s not polished, and even the light fixes I have in mind won’t change that; the story needs a serious going thru, start to almost-finish, and I can already see entire bits that are going to have to be redone.
But that’s for later, or possibly never, lol. For now, I can ignore the glaringly obvious flaws, bypass the bits that don’t really work, and just clean it up so I can finally post it to Wattpad.

I meant to publish Chapter 5 last week; totally forgot. My bad. Now I have to check and see if there are any more decent chapters before I start nanowrimo; I’m fairly sure 7 is full of crap, but I’m not sure of 6. Guess I know how I’m spending my lunch break today. On the plus side, at least I’m getting lots of posts done today!
Have a glimpse of an amazing deviantart artist as an apology.
Far Beyond The Stars by NanoMortis
So a blog I read reminded me that it’s two weeks to Nano.
I’ve been waffling along this week, doing next to nothing. Two weeks! That’s all I’ve got left to prep! So I looked at my outline, added a couple of words, looked at it some more, and decided to just wait till the weekend to do anything else. Because regular life has been a bit full at the moment, and I am gratefully going to be using that as an excuse.
Also, feeling a bit of guilt about doing so little, so I put up Chapter 4 at Wattpad.
I’ve been sick a bit (worst part of heading into winter is all the freaking colds, IMO), so I haven’t gotten a lot done prepping for nano, or anything else for that matter.
But I can post up Chapter 3, since I’d already finished the rough edit. Yay!
I decide that, errors and all, I would keep posting chapters; better to have it up, I guess, than to keep holding onto it.
So, with no modifications, no corrections and absolutely no editing, the next chapter is up at Wattpad.
****EDIT: I tweaked bits of chapter 2, including a name change; in the rush of nanowrimo, I’d forgotten what I’d named her elder brother and switched it. It’s now fixed to match the rest of the story.
Is now up on wattpad.
And here is a kitty, because kitties are best.
Since a certain reader keeps mentioning a desire to read something, and since she won’t let me buy her a pint, I’ve posted a snippet from my 2008 nano novel. Don’t say I never gave you anything! Continue reading
